Actually, every vehicle that has keyless entry, Land Rover or not, uses 433mhz as this is the frequency designated by the government.

So do your roller door openers and wireless headphone ( note not infra red ) and a number of other devices.

While primarily used for security devices, it is an open frequency that is also used for data transmission and that would explain the problem with the energy meter.

A sensing device is mounted in your power box and a wireless display is fitted somewhere in the house and this means that you don’t actually have to be parked near your power box or even your neighbour’s power box to have the problem.

There was a fix on another forum (I think it was RR net) that suggested you cut off part of the aerial in the car and that reduces the chance of picking up stray signals. It also reduces the distance you can unlock the car from. My D2 currently works from 30 metres away and me still inside the office with the glass door closed, so a reduction in sensitivity would not be a problem. If anyone knows how to convert to a dead simple just lock and unlock remote with no connection to the BECM at all (and so the BECM does not have to talk to the ECM) I would be very interested.
