So, with that in mind, are the UK Salisburys the same inside as Dana's??? Really want a Trutrac style diff center for the front of the 101..... or a locker..

A mate has a diff called an "Electrac" I think it's a Detroit product and it's an electrically lockable Truetrac. Not sure if they still make them but this one is in a Salisbury and only a few years old.
Yes, the Salisbury 8HA is almost identical to a Dana 60. The only major differences are the Salisbury was metricised, uses different axle sizes and spline counts and different (usually thinner) wall tubes (at least on 109 and 110 versions).
So in short, any Dana 60 locker or diff centre can be fitted to any Salisbury 8HA housing. You just need to mix and match bolts and bearings to fit it up. Keith Kerzer is the expert on this and has list of which bearings you need.
Keep in mind that there are 2 different centres for both salisbury and D60 - 4.11 and numerically higher and 4.3 and numerically lower.
OK so a specific question as to which would be a BETTER locker - for a Sals diff:
E-locker or Maxidrive.
and why?
(I'm obtaining a quote for both...)
E locker should be quicker to engage and disengage, may require less fiddling with actuator controls being a simple switch versus vacuum switch, probably not a lot of difference in strength though.
ARB are having a sale on until the end of December, $990 per locker and $200 for a compressor and tire inflation kit if you get a locker. I am looking at buying 3 for my 6x6 perentie. what's peoples thoughts
