I'm no mechanical guru but it sounds a lot like a wheel bearing to me from a similar experience I had some years ago with a RRC.

Today it was confirmed that the wheel bearing is one of the causes of the sound, there is also a poofteenth of movement in the top ball joint as well:rolleyes:
