    Third Battery

I am going to put an 80ah in the SLS cradle on the D2(becuase that's what fits). I already have a lead acid deep cycle 50ah in the engine bay running off a red Arc isolator. I will be running number three in line off number two. Anything I should know about before i do this. have been warned to make sure Number 2 is in good nick, which it is! 11mm cable from Battery number one through 100am breaker to Number 2. Maybe another 100a breaker between the 2nd and 3rd batts.

    Anything else?

I have a LED voltage readout with a toggle switch for 2nd & 3rd batteries that feeds via a speaker wire. Its off in the middle position, so no voltage loss when no battery selected.
Peace of mind to see the volts going in...

Thanks DJ, You reminded me I have one of those waiting to go in. But it sounds like nobody has anything to add to my third battery set up so It looks like it will be going in soon. 130ah comin my way!

Can never have enough battery power i have 3 in my s111 starter and two in the back to run fridge etc have votage sensing relay to charge spares they are connected by 50amp anderson plug so are isotaled from main when not driving both have volt meters as said good to see them charging. third volt meter in dash for starting bat and 75 amp marine breaker (from bias boating) under the bonnet isolates everything if there is a problem. Breaker between spare batteries sounds good too.

just about to install a 3rd battery in my D2. i have a Redarc, and just picked up a nifty BEP dual voltage sensing relay. it senses charge from both sides, charges up all when voltage is above 12.8 ( i.e. on engine running) shuts off the main start battery when its low on volts, but when i have my solar out and running and if i get enough power it will start charging back into my main starting battery fro the other side.
