adjust the orifice size by rotating the collars on the nozzle. It can look like there are no moveable parts on the nozzle, but there should be.
My grease gun goes onto nipples OK but will not let go and when wiggled to make it let go, it gets angry and rips the heads off the poor nipples - meaning the ease out has got to come out to do an extraction.
Any ideas on how to stop my grease gun ripping the heads of poor little nipples. Has done it twice now.
Thanks
Garry

I had this trouble, then realised I had to clean them first with a rag.
As Crump mentioned the nozzle needs adjusting.Remove and clean it,if it appears damaged buy a new nozzle.
When its clean you will see it adjusts the clamp on the jaws as you twist it,it needs to be set so it clips onto the nipple loosely,if its too tight you get the hydraulic pressure of the grease locking it on as you have found.

Hmmm - maybe I need a new end - no adjustment on it - I know what you are taking about but this one don't move - is all clean as it is relatively new as are the nibbles - putting in new UJs on my rear tailshaft and it has eaten both grease nipples.
Maybe I just buy a new end for the grease gun but not from Super Cheap.
Thanks for the comments

If you've got an el cheepo from Super Chirp or similar then that could well be the problem. Go out and spend the money on a good MacNaught K29 gun. You'll only ever buy one as they last forever and can be rebuilt.

even the cheapys have adjustment on them its part of how they are made.
you might need to use a bit of force to get the head to rotate but they do move.

Threw the non-adjustable one in the bin and put on an end from an old 50yo gun I have - it is adjustable but must fit a larger nipple as it will not tighten up an just squirted around the nipple. So switched to another old 30yo small gun that did the trick.
Thanks
