Chassis flex - how much is required?

yes, even in my two door I have had it twisted to the point where the doors are hard to open and close. I figured the old deck i had on there was rediculously attached and the movement was excessive. In a county body (or a HCPU or PU) at least there is some ridgidity afforded by the tub body attached to the chassis whereas with my old tray on the cab/chassis the twist was just silly at times. I have already repaired (plated) some chassis cracking from an accident (and poor repairs) from one of the previous owners that I opende up again through driving a heavy load across rough terrain.

my view is that things can be to stiff, in the boating industry materials where getting stiffer and stiffer, it was found that the boats where cracking up because the stresses loaded up the joints and localised areas and cracking as opposed to being absorbed though out the hull structure, this can be related to metal as well. just my 2 cent worth
