You could of course lower the axle mount a bit which would mean less had to be done to the top mount.
AFAIR after looking at one the D2 mount is lower on the axle.( I visualise a sort of box welded under the current mount and the hole made bigger )

i remeber Bill Larman talking about the problems with the upper shock mount angles. He said that after experimenting he came up with a mount angle pretty much the same as the Disco 2.
what are your thoughts on this?
