I have a 2000 TD5 Discovery diesel. Without warning the engine warning light came on and the M&S lights started flashing, I had no accelerator and the car adopted limp mode. By vigourously moving the gear lever (Automatic) I was able to clear the flashing lights and the car drove normally. Shortly, however, the problem came back. I believe the problem is a faulty starter inhibitor switch and these cost about $500 plus fitting. My question is are these switches repairable or can they only be completely replaced. Any ideas and or help would be appreciated.Thanks
