    Aircon speeds - no change?

    Hi All,
In my 97 series 1 disco. My aircon works fine but I have speed 1 (very slow) and speed 4 (flat out). Speeds 2 and 3 are the same as 1?
Has anyone else had this problem, Is it some plastic behind the switch broken, or something else?

    Thanks Andrew

What happens when you turn off the aircon at the button,
does the fan only work on 4?

If so it's most likely to be the resistor,

Yep same result with air con turned off and just fan. I am pretty sure after reading many post on this site that it will be the resistor pack. Where do you get a new pack from, or could I just got to jaycar or somewhere similar buy the appropriate resistors and solder them on? Has anyone had a go at the later or do people just buy a new pack

I think you may have to get a replacement from someone who specifically stocks Land Rover parts/bits, although an auto spare parts place maybe able to match it up

If someone else has an aftermarket source, speak up now please!

On my 96 Disco , the handbook says that the aircon does not work on 1 only the fan.Is that different on the 97?

Put the resister pack out of my car into dads disco and his air con works fine stuffed around with the switch and figured out that it is the switch that is faulty. So I need to get another switch dash panel, anyone got any second hand ones?

I've never read that in the handbook.

My previous 96 aircon worked on speed 1 no problems, and so does my current 98 as well.
