Cleaning up the Greasy (and non-greasy) Bits

    Hi Guys,

Crawling around under my 110 today and I couldn't help but think it really needed a good clean. (my nice and shiny new drive train is really at odds with the 25 years of engrained crap everywhere else )

Does anyone know any good products to get the ingrained built up dirt of chassis rails etc? I'd use a pressure cleaner but I'm afraid I will take the paint off. (happened to me before on my 2a )

Also, there are a lot of little corrosion (on the aluminium..) bubbles starting on the paint .. is there anything like rust converter which will stop it that i can dab a little touch up paint on? What causes this, btw?

Don't worry - I love getting it dirty and muddy.. just like to have it clean after

My favorite for anti dirt/grease is CT-14, straight from the bottle, using a throw away spray pack and maybe a $2 scrubbing brush to loosen up some of the heavier stuff. The downside is that it requires protective gear as it's reasonably hard on exposed skin/eyes.

Spray it on, wait a little while, then use the pressure washer - you won't need to get too close.

I just bought 4 lt of Septone degreaser (not citrus one mentioned above - not in stock where I bought). I gave it four applications and it aint anywhere close to degreased.

probably should have spent twice the money and bought the CT14 which was on the shelf.
