    TD5 air intake leak check

Is it acceptable to simply put a plastic bag over the snorkel head to check for leaks, as in engine stalls, no leaks. Or will I just end up with the guts sucked out of the air cleaner?

not a great plan... it will potentially take out the MAF and MAP.

spray the joints with startya bastard and if it revs up or starts to knock then it leaks enough to be a problem.
