    Running wires behind D2 dash?

    My dash is starting to resemble a mad womans's breakfast as I have a reversing camera monitor, a TM2 Engine Saver and a GPS mounted in the center of the dash.

    I cannot find a way to get the wires NEATLY down to where I can connect up to power and also get some of the wires through the rubber grommet to the engine bay.

    Does anyone have a good solution to this short of putting a penetration through the dash?

    I had always thought that vent was part of the A/C system

    OK, next dumb question, how do you get it out?

    Gently and carefully

    Just prise gently under it, there are 3 clips from memory that need to be pulled out...

    Flat head screwdriver wrapped in Electrical tape to protect everything, then go gently!

    I tried to get mine out (with little success) and therefore just drilled out some of the fins and poked the wires through (doesn't look too bad) It helps to reove the radio as this improves access and make threading wires through easy.

    If you are looking at having GPS, UHF ect powered directly from the battery, then the best solution I have found is to run 1 wire thru the grommet in the drivers footwell to the battery, and then mount a 4 or 6 way fuse box under the dash.

    This gives you plenty of options, and keeps everything neat.

    BTW - I have also put a 20 amp fuse in-line with the new power lead right next to the battery. This way, if there is any drama with anything, you have 2 fuses protecting you.
