Is the radiator still in the vehicle or have you removed it?
I generally soften upp the crusty bugs with hot soapy water (maybe even some bugg off window cleaner) and then pressure clean. If radiator out from both sides.
have to remove a lot of bugs from my radiator and just wondering the best way to remove them?
Was thinking of soaking the radiator in hot soapy water to try to remove them?

Bugs are one thing but if you have grass seeds in the radiator then try to avoid using moisture as the seeds will expand and become harder to remove. Dry air pressure first then maybe followed up with water and a bit more pressure.

I usually remove the viscous and shroud, then blow with an air gun from the back. Most will fall between the rad and condenser and then can be blown out from the front.
Then maybe a hose, but I would hesitate before Gerni as it would be easy to flatten the core.

Propane torch on a very low flame, burn them to ash then wash the radiator with warm soapy water from a hose after its all had a chance to cool down.

What about the paint on the fins? You would surely then have to repaint.
I would also be afraid of oxidising the copper fins especially if there was some salt around. I have seen some that you could completely disintegrate just by rubbing a finger over them.
However maybe I am living in the past and you are talking aluminium.

I have a slightly larger problem. I noticed some fine mist of coolant spray around the engine bay in the Disco. I removed the radiator today and found the cause.
Bigger than a bug.
It was very un-zen.
A finch had somehow been sucked into the shroud and thrashed around, stuffing the core. I only found the finch (and other smaller flying things) once the radiator was out.
No need for blow torch here. It was dessicated and very easy to remove.
Now the expensive bit. Getting it repaired. Be thankful for bugs only!
