Land rover parts are only EXPENSIVE here

If you buy your parts from the UK its like buying a spark plug for an ea falcon

cheap original equipment none of this ****ty aftermarket parts and they are everywhere and i mean everywhere

MAF sensor here 300-600 depending on where you get it and if you get it from a dealer its triple

MAF sensor in the UK original LR part $125au including postage

It must be a sick joke by the dealers on the general public this is the kind of rip off you get with when you buy a Super car not 4x4

I honestly cant see how they justify it

Maybe we should start a list of UK suppliers and add a bit of feed back as to how cheap, how quick to deliver etc.

I would believe that the problem would be partly some suppliers would have to pay that price as well, followed by freight and import duties (which we miss by importing privately) and then have to put their profit on top otherwise its not worth being in business.
Having said that there is some price gouging at times.

I was going to buy an Alternator from Paddocks in the UK for my 300TDi, the price was great $186, but the frieght was $156. I bought the same alternator here for $330.
How much is the frieght for the $125 MAF, have you actually imported one, it sounds incredibly cheap, esp. if you take out at least $30 or $40 for freight, would be most interested to hear, Regards Frank.

Angry All that is Original is not Genuine

    Watch out watch out.

I bought a genuine replacement distributor, it was made in China under licence and when fitted reduced my economy and performance, but your right it was cheep.

Another good example is the stepper motor I got from a UK eBay company, $120 delivered. Looked exactly the same as the Lucus but when fitted gave rough idling and reduced economy.

So I when I got an Original Lucas Part in the Lucas Part Box ($310), same serial number as the Genuine Land Rover part that comes in the green and white box I was shocked to find it was not quite the same as the Genuine Land Rover Part. There is a subtle but substantial difference that makes the Land Rover part superior.

This superior Genuine Land Rover part costs more to make, less people stock them and as a result they cost more to buy.

Do not get me wrong there are parts which I'm happy to get generic or straight from the manufacturer like, rotors, bearings, gaskets, ect. But when it comes to parts that feed information to the ECU and will effect power and economy I've been stung 3 times with goods that were cheeper not as good and reduced the performance and economy.

So get them for as cheep as you can if you want, just don't b*tch on this forum about how your Land Rover is unreliable, underperforming, and uses loads of fuel.

I bought a $125 MAF and then threw it away when Bruce Davis put on a specially refurbished one he sells for $800. OK so it was $675 more but it dropped my fuel consumption by 12% and stopped the V8 performing like a diesel.

    Hi Frank,
I no longer have the receipt and the online shop is either gone or changed name. From checking around the web freight is currently $80 for UPS, Royal Mail is not reliable at the moment due to strikes.

I did find my Bruce Davis receipt and the MAF from him was $700, which is about on par with some of the ebay ones for $650
