    Installing Truetrac, need help!

I've just pulled the Carrier out of my D1 10 spline diff and want to slot a Truetrac in the hole.
The problem is, the carrier on theTruetrac takes a larger bearing than the standard diff.
Does the Timken set #47 fit my diff or am I at a stalemate?

There are differences in the pre and post 94 axles, most of which you know about - hubs, splines and axle lengths. To the best of my knowledge the diff centres are also slightly different, and I recall the timken set 47 is for the later 24 spline carrier. I also have a foggy recollection about pre 80 ten spline diffs having a different bearing on the carrier.

Time to measure up, take some pics and post them up ,as you need to ID the trutrack (Where did it come from anyway?) and diff centre. It may be that a different set of bearings will fit, but first step is positive ID on each article.

I suspect that it has something to do with metric and imperial OD and ID. I think if you look on Ashtrans I think I saw something about spacers. Having a read on the site it appears as this is an issue for the series diffs as I suspect that the discos are all metric. So proably no help at all

Hymie carrier bearings for LR TruTrac 10 spline axles are Timken #45. Langy is right the #47's are for LR 24 spline. Also be aware LR 10 and 24 spline TruTracs are not interchangable.

If you get the bearings and press them on by the weekend, you can call around and I'll set it up for you, although removeing the carrier prevents taking a backlash measurement of the existing set up, should be fine to revert to specs
