Well it looks like the LR gods are still toying with me.
Graeme Coopers pressure tested the head in-situ with some tool they manufactured of their own and found that there was a slight drop in pressure. With the rocker cover off they couldn't see any visible signs of leaks around the injectors so worst case it's internal.
Had them replace the seals to all injectors and now it's back to watching oil levels.
When your head was replaced the first time, were the same inectors used?
You would have the worst luck in the world to have 2 heads with the same problem, even though it is possible.
My thoughts are that if the same inectors were used and you have the same problem aagain, that the issue is in the inector body itself on the high presure side. Which would require some keen eyes( clearly your mechanic has these)
LR did the head on my 2001 TD5 the injector seals twice and finally the injectors. That solved it.
I detected my problem when I had oil tests done. LR, when I showed them the reports had no idea what the report meant.
I'd have the injectors checked. It was a well known in the UK that LR had a batch of heads that were porous and also a batch of injectos that "dribbled".
Exactly. And people wonder why sometimes it takes some time to diagnose and repair a particular issue:mad: One or the other would be reasonably easy to find and repair, but I bet there are some vehicles out there with BOTH issues:oQuote:
