I know its not what you've asked, but my 2c worth anyway - I think you'd be dissapointed with the results. IMHO, that engine has the wrong torque charactistics for a heavyish 4WD. It might have a few more kW overall but real world driveability in a Disco would be average, and off-road less than average. I cant see the value for time and money you'd invest.

    There are better conversion options.

I agree with Mark. Don't waist your time.

Average power is of far greater significance than peak power, especially in a heavy 4 wheel drive.

If you want to make a difference, install a 4.6. Tons of torque and it will drop straight in.

I luv to but up here i cant even find a running 3.5 engine at the wreckers

So tracking one of those down would not be that easy

    Where abouts are you Steve?

Have you tried T. R Spares here in Sydney or Graeme Cooper Automotive?

before you consider any sort of conversion ( I agree with what was said about the V6) unbolt a rear axle and pull it out to see if it is a 12 or 24 spline axle. If it is a 12 spline then the best you could do without $$$ would be to get a second hand 3.9, it bolts straight in and is a vast improvment over the 3.5 without being so overpowered that it snaps axles. That said it still will if you play silly buggers in it.

    Thems my 2 bobs worth

Generally repowering takes some research (what you are doing now) then work out your finances and see how much of a gap there is between them. I just put a 4.6 in mine and upgraded all 4 brakes cost over 10k had I known it was going to cost that much at the outset I doubt I would have done it BUT now that I have it's bloody awsome

A mate of mine fitted a warm 4.6 in his disco and it was a straight bolt in job, there is very little difference in the motors, unless you know rover engines you'd struggle to tell the difference. The 4.6 is a big leap in performance over a 3.5-3.9. Pat

Noone is making an adaptor for the T700 to LT230, my mate is currently, he's till testing it

    V6 is hideous in a 2+T car

Its just as much work as a 5L conversion anyhow
