    Discovery problems updated

So i rang the mechanics about my Discovery today

He had it for a week and couldn't find the problem

I took it there running on 3 cylinder and leaking green coolant from the head gasket overheating

I told him what the problem and where it was leaking from

Said he had started it everyday for a week with no dramas running a little rough that's about it

    I said ill come up

When i get there the mechanic and the apprentice where standing around scratching there heads looking under the bonnet the engine is misfiring running on 7 cylinders a bit better than when i dropped it off no to much

So we were standing around for a while and he was telling me he doesn't know whats the matter he cant see any leaks it could be the radiator or anything

So i let them talk a while before pointing out the green coolant leaking out from the head gasket right at the spot i told him about errrrrrrr didnt see that

So i said ill take it home started it up and backfired and farted popped all the way out the driveway just as i had dropped it of

overheated before i got home but i got there

Do you think i should go back

    So another update

I checked why it was running worse than it was before this morning

They had put the spark plug leads on wrong ????????????

Also when i got there last night to pick it up i watched him through the door to the workshop hitting the mass airflow meter with a screwdriver handle could this damage it

Cause it back fired all the way home last night and barely runs today

I changed the firing order back to the right order but it still runs like **** no backfiring anymore though
    V8 3.5 Discovery

the funny thing is on the phone he said it was driving fine just a bit rough but as i was bringing up taking it home with me he said ohhh you not going to get far

I think he might of stuffed it up on purpose so i couldn't take it with me

I think the word is INEPT!
    Here's what dictionary.com says...

    1.
without skill or aptitude for a particular task or assignment; maladroit: He is inept at mechanical tasks. She is inept at dealing with people.
    2. generally awkward or clumsy; haplessly incompetent.

    3. inappropriate; unsuitable; out of place.

    4. absurd or foolish: an inept remark.

    ...does that seem to fit???

Sounds like you found a good place NOT to take a car for repair .

Best bet would be a pressure test of the cooling system Nat rad do them for free and will also test for combustion gas in the coolant .

But id say your up for a set of head gaskets how many K's has it got on the 3.5 ? mite be worth a top end tidy up (reco head's and new cam and lifters) tho its not much more to do the bottom end and have a nice fresh engin
