    They pull really hard alright. The trick was to lock up the drag and just pull hard to get them out of the wash and kelp. Once in deeper water the fun can be had to the net.

    Going up to Forster for the fishing comp again this weekend and my mate has a bucket of salted down cunjevoi ready to go.

    I have caught them while fishing for niggers on the rocks. Not much of a contest with 4lb line undert a float but I have managed to wrangle a few smaller ones - 1-1.5kg, like that. The bigger ones no chance.

    I have used black and red crabs caught on the rocks as well. They love them too

    Hey Chenz,

    how are the tailor down your way at the moment?
    I seem to be getting them in dribs and drabs but good average size though.
    Also, what's your "standard" beach jew rig that you'd use?
    I've never caught one and am keen to try...

    A couple of nice trout I picked up yesterday, Not monsters but at 52cm and 58cm they are perfect eating size
