    Onya mate.
I have 2 good mates that have recently shifted to Geraldton/Northhampton.
Looking forward to getting up there to visit them and have a fish, hopefully with my boat.

A few weeks ago I took a full day lesson in fly fishing on the Goulburn river. Fly fishing was all the fun I expected it to be! I bought a rod that weekend, so I'm ready to go next camping trip on a river.

The guy teaching me has been semi-professionally doing it 20+ years - he travels the world fishing and running lessons for beginners to experts honing a particular technique. He said on average 1 in 50 catch a fish on their first day. I caught 2 brown trout on my first day!!! haha

Also ran into a guy who'd been fly fishing for a year and still hasn't caught anything... He was very displeased with my first day.

All the rivers are fishing well at the moment, I've been wanting to try fly fishing for a long time now I'm hoping santa brings me a fly rod and reel this year. Last summer I tried some 2pnd line on a bait caster with a greased leader with a bubble float using crickets and maggots, that was quite successful on the Lake

Price maybe a concern, however I would definitely recommend the place I had my lesson/tour/guide.

Goulburn Valley Fly Fishing Centre - Thornton, Australia

If you want to go for a weekend away, they also have a cottage on the property and ponds filled with trout for practicing and the property backs onto the goulburn river. So no matter what skill level you're at there is plenty of options!

We had some fun on the ponds with spinners too. Just catch and release as much as you want. Although it doesn't compare to a catch from the river...

That looks like Geoff, he taught me to fly fish a few years ago. I just don't get out enough. I am going to have to look for some photos now.
