it may come as no surprise, but caravans work the same way on open sites..
Only somebody upstairs knows why...

And in a similar way to Land Rovers parked on their lonesome attracting like-for-like, but in that case it's ok.....
...and camping.
Yeah, camping and caravanning I get this a lot which bloody annoys me - why go out bush to relax then go camp right next to someone else? They might as well stay home and argue with the neighbours...
I’m a bit past being polite these days so before they even turn the car off I’ll go tell ‘em to **** off.

Indubitably so to all so mentioned.......parking, camping, fishing. Even in queues at the auto tellers where they queue at body touching distances.
Had a couple of tourist anglers join me uninvited whilst spinning for trout on a long pebble beach recently. No-one else on the river within half a km either upstream or downstream but they stood either side of me at arms length and commenced spinning.

I have been known to do exactly that in times past............but.....as it turns out this may have affected the anglers more than the fish.
Recently a guy I know turned up with his GSP to wave his fly rod around. His dog immediately jumped in and began swimming around trying most unsuccessfully to catch the pools resident black ducks. I thought fishing was now a lost cause but he began casting and was using a nymph pattern. Well.... it surprised the heck out of me when, regardless of the dogs activities or proximity to his fly, he caught fish...several in fact and all decent pan sized browns.
