Another recovery from a month ago, 30 footer, this one was in our creek.

High tide launch and retrieve only from creek

Firstly he smoked his winch as he didn’t want to put trailer wheels in the water

Than truck could pull boat and trailer up the ramp

Plus he dug holes with the outboards…..

This was pre-arranged so we were on standby, he was hoping. It to have to pay anything extra.

We are a popular launch point as we are the most northern boat ramp on King Sound

Punters pay for a campsite and not actually camp as they launch their for a multi day trip.

Ironically he potentially may have had no problems if they were actually at 25psi.

Oh well, it'll be another $300 when they pull the boat out again.
    We always suggest

    - 18psi
    - Turn engine off if launch is not quick
    - The beach is flat, yep you’re going to have to get your rear wheels wet, or have a drop down third wheel, unhitch and push trailer in until boat floats than connect top and pull trailer out…that’s what the locals do.
    - launching and retrieving closer to high tide is always easier

But they generally don’t listen, are always experts, and it never happened to them.

If you’re up this way give us a shout, I might be able to help out

King Sound up near the Dampier Penisula? I'm confused, your location in posts is shown as Brissie.

I would assume so. I'm thinking this is the same creek, boat ramp, at low water. This was when I was there in '05.

It's a bit SE of the Peninsula proper.

It shows as rotated, but correct when cursor is applied. Weird!

    Nope that’s not ours…..

The troopy got bogged on the beach, it’s where 99% launch and no way we could launch a 30’er on the beach.

Creek launch is mainly for us and the odd terrorist….

Leeders creek up near Darwin has a great service.
You pull up with your boat jump on board and old mate launches the boat for you and parks/locks up the truck and trailer safe and sound.
You give them a call on the radio on your return and you get your trailer backed into the water and the boat winched up for you.
Back in the 90's this cost $20

One of my favorite passtimes is sitting at the boat ramp watching the numpties launch and retrive their boats, Verry entertaining

Out of interest , WA rego check has FLAMINGO as a 1991 Toyota but is Unregistred and thus uninsured. What an absolute tosser , should be up for a lot more than $300

should have let it go under before pulling it out.
