Might add some more, this recipe is very heavy, so the chocolate flavour might not come out as much, it has a more roasted flavour about it, I've added 2 more ltrs of water to this one to tone it down a tad to see if the chocolate flavour is a bit more noticable.

I'm also not using Coopers this time but Wal's from Country Brewer, hopefuly it will turn out OK.

Atm I have a cross between an amber ale and a dark ale brewing:

    1 Tin Real Ale
    1 Tin Amber Malt
    1 Tin Dark Malt
    250g white sugar
    150g brown sugar
Lots of hops added cold st start of ferment.

Coopers and Safale yeast, though last night I pitched in some champagne yeast to finish it off.

    These worked well for me.

    1 tin Cooper's Stout
    1 tin Cooper's Real Ale
    2 kgs. raw sugar
    1 kg. rich brown sugar
top up to total 30 litres.
A strong lighter tasting stout. Good as a summer drink for stout fanciers.

    1 tin Cooper's Stout
    1 kg. raw sugar
    1 kg. rich brown sugar
    top up to 24 litres
A strong heavy rich tasting stout.

    2 tins Cooper's Stout
    no added sugar
    top up to 24 litres
A medium strength very rich heavy stout for cold nights.

    1 tin Cooper's Real Ale
    1 kg. raw sugar
    0.5 kg. rich brown sugar
    top up to 24 litres
This is a delightful strong dark ale. I have no idea why such a small difference in the recipe worked so well. Just about my favourite home brew.

    1 tin Cooper's Stout.
    1 kg raw sugar
    1 tin treacle
    top up to 24 litres
A rich heavy medium strength stout.

Bottled this brew last night, first time I've bottled a brew in 3yrs I remember why I got a keg system now

I hope it turns out OK, there were a lot of chunky bits in the bottom of the cans I used, don't think they were very fresh from the brewer.
