    ginger beer....

this morning I bottled a ginger beer brew.

simplest brew I have ever done...(I've done hundreds of different brews) I can of Morgans GB and 2 kg dextrose. 10 mins prep time and close off the fermenter , test the sg on the 6th day and bottled on 7th (today)

the bright was lovely , there was a bit over a glass left after 28 bottles , so of course at 8am in the morning , I couldn't throw it out.

So, this time next week open 1st bottle.....maybe not at 8am.

I have a rather complex brew waiting to be made , maybe in 2 weeks as we have a qty of freeloaders coming through and I do my brew work in the 2nd bathroom.

...but isnt it nice to do a real simple brew?

I do a kit brew every so often but making up my own recipes is part of the fun, not done a kit GB before and hopefully its better than the kit ciders which i find underwhelming without alterations.

I've made this CWA recipe in the past and the kids (grown up now, thanks for asking) rate it highly.

As a teenager we used mums TCWA gb recipe and put it in the old coke 2ltr easy goer bottles, we aged them in our cubby house and a couple exploded leaving sticky gb everywhere.
The first one we tried opening took off like a rocket down our backyard.

I used to brew it the CWA way, but I used champagne yeast. One king brown of that was all you needed.
