    D1 Electric Mirror Lubricant

    Hello All,

Can someone please let me know what the most suitable lubricant is for the motorised/moving sections of the door-mounted outside rear-view mirrors? After fitting a second-hand replacement passenger-side mirror unit it emitted a series of very dry motor or pulley sounds for all up/down and sideways adjustments. The mirror unit definitely sounds like it needs some maintenance!

    Kind regards
    Lionel

PTFE dry lube would be my go to.

If it’s an internal “gearbox” any marine or similar grease should work.
