Defender - Engine Cuts Out/Wont Start - Flashing Glow Light
Hi
I am experiencing a couple of reoccurring problems with my 2012 Defender 90 2.2L I was hoping the AULRO community could help with.
Sometimes when driving the engine cuts out and the glow light/oil warning lights come on - This occurs transiently for a second or 2 before all goes back to normal. This is not associated with any specific gear changes and mainly occurs during cruise.
The other problem is the car intermittently doesn't start. When the ignition is turned on the glow light illuminates and flashes, the fuel pump continuously sounds, the car doesn't come up to temperature and the engine doesn't turn over.
I have recently had all the earths cleaned as well as the instal of new earths to the starter motor, however this hasn't resolved these problems.
Currently the engine is refusing to start.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

A common problem is the vacuum control valve (VCV) on the fuel pump, they are essentially a consumable item. One of the faults it can cause is cutting out when running.
