Had a big weekend in the vegie patch, the olde back is telling me all about it.
Saturday was the big effort day,and it got to 40degC.
I opened up the compost heap.Piled a heap of spent plants that would be too hard to but thru the mulcher,a tomato bush, the zucchini plants, the spaghetti squash, runners from the strawberry bed and trimmed off butternut pumpkin vines. The mulcher got a run, blasted all the corn plants, giant zucchinis, rotten spaghetti squash and overgrown beetroot into pulp, onto the compost heap.I then piled the used straw mulch from the vacated beds on the compost heap as it is full of slaters, mowed the lawn put the clippings on top then watered it up and put the plastic over it.
I was over it for the day but soldiered on,drilled and rotary hoed the beds with my new garden augers, they are awesome.
Today was the easy bit, planted 3 punnets of beetroot,2 punnets of lettuce,2 punnets of corn,1 punnet of cucumber. Also made a second large tub with 2 tomato plants in,an experiment, much too late to plant tomatos here, the idea is get them up and running then put them in the hot house for winter.Never tried before, but considered it often.Ive got 2 large tubs, one has 2 roma tomato, the other 2 gross lisse.
No pics this time.See how I go next weekend.
Got 2 beds ready for more broccoli/cauli.Already got 2 lots of broccoli and 1 of cauli in,waiting another week to get some harvest space later.
    I'm sore,but enjoyed my weekend.

    A few more pics.
Ive got rid of a few finished summer vegies, new vegies planted.

Tomatoes for winter,an experiment. These will go in the hot house when the weather cools.

Passionfruit Vine. Will need to cover it for winter, they don't like frost.

Cauliflower.Looking good after getting a dose of worm castings last weekend.

Beetroot.Lost a few seedlings in here, bloody slaters, will get some replacements to yop the bed up.The blue stuff isn't Viagra.Baysol snail pellets, they kill slaters but you can only use them on crops you aren't eating at the moment due to the withholding period.

Onions/Garlic.Freshly planted, not much to see yet.

Corn. The tall ones are flowering at the moment, the short ones will be the last until spring, they don't like frost.LOVE home grown corn!!!!

Will post a few more pics in separate post,it seems there is a limit on pics now.
