    NEW FRONT GARDEN

After 30 odd years living with the same old front garden we decided to get the landscapers in to replace it. The old wooden bridge decking boards had started to rot , the old pavers were up & down & there were step downs in them . Because my wife uses a Wheeled Wakes we wanted to get rid of as many steep as we could. Here are some before & now photo's . This photo is after the plants were removed & old bridge still; in place .OUR GAEDEN 12.jpg New bridge that had been raised about 100mm OUR GARDEN 10.jpg As of yesterday OUR GARDEN 6.jpg oUR gARDEN 3.jpg At night OUR GARDEN 8.jpg OURDEN GARDEN 7.jpg I built the two brick pillars after brick layer scammed us , paid 50% deposit & never turned up ( then sent a message saying it was his brother & his brother was dead when he wasn't & has left Brisbane & I have no idea to where) Sorry about these being on there side taken with my phone. OUR GARDEN 14.jpg OUR GARDEN 13.jpg We were 2 years trying to get a landscaper to come & look at the job , if they did turn up all they wanted to do was plant the plants or never sent us a quote.
We are very happy with the result & it is up to me to keep it this way.

Looks good! As a matter of interest, what boards have you used for the bridge? I have to replace the boards on a similar setup very soon.

    Looks Great

Keep the maintenance up to the timber - amazing how fast it weathers.
    Cheers

Not sure , Landscaper supplied them , Think it may have been Merbau & have used Wattyl Transparent Water Based Oil , colour Jarrah & I have given them 4 coats of water based decking stain . Now the landscaper has finished I will clean with deck wash & give them another coat . Will recoat every year when I redo the deck at the back of the house. We used to make Alum gangways for marinas , the boards I used 25 years ago were reject ones we used on gangways that had blemishes & we could not use for acetic reasons. It wasn't so much that they were rotten but that the screws were rusting
( should have used SS) plus I wanted to raise the height of the bridge.
