They appear to be a very solid and reliable turbo. Mine was only retired due to dust erosion, it has survived oil starvation twice without any problems. I went to the T25 simply for parts availability, if the IHI was still in good condition I'd be perfectly happy using it.Quote:

An update....
I adapted my transfer box to a 1.003.
Now the Landy drives faster than that I dare to drive it (>140 Km/h according to the navigation system).
This is cool.
Really Cool was that a Discovery 2 TD5 could't beat me in a traffic light sprint. The second time he really tried hard, but my old diesel was faster, despite from the 1.003. Isuzu rules!

Help, I was going on holiday, my caravan behind my Landy, and then the Turbo made a skweaking noise, and black smoke and no power...........
I had to hook off the caravan, and drive back to my home, where I took our ever reliable Swedish friend, the Saab 900.
However, my IHI turbo from my 4BD1T now is broken, and until now, I couldnot find a new turbo, or a rebuild one.
Does somebody know a good shop, or does somebody still have parts for my old turbo?
The bearings are worn, and the rest needs to be checked.

Parts for IHI RHB6 are almost impossible to find, it is an old turbo that was used on very few applications.
You can buy a chinese parts, a complete chinese copy or you can adapt to fit a more common turbo.

As Dougal posted. Alternately Takel, there are plenty of turbos which can easily be adapted to fit. E.g. the turbo from a saab 900T (classic) would be about the right size!
Hello there, l live in England and l had to replace the ihi turbo on my motor. l made a lot of phone calls, and found a firm who imported one in from Singapore. The firm are near Nottingham. l'll try and find the old invoice. it was quite expensive. But l have seen quite a few on Ebay for a lot less money, but l only saw them after l had paid for my one!
