It's not hard to get a parts book. The manufacturer part no is generally listed eg for isuzu components. I would have to check but pbr parts would probably listed. From memory the master cylinder was the same as EA Falcon.

Except for a few specially made parts, the "different" bits will almost all be off the shelf ones - the only problem will be off whose shelf? But taking the brake booster for example - it is certainly made by a braking company, and probably has their identifying number on it, which would be recognised by a brake specialist. Even without the number a competent brake specialist would most likely recognise it unless it was a very rare item. Similar comments would apply to other accessories.

how many threads do you see on AULRO on broken bits on the perentie? the statistics dont lie.
90% of the repair work I do on them at work is because of idiot drivers and most of the idiot drivers on here wont want one because its only a diesel, naturally aspirated at that and not a v8.
trying to work out if I was to buy some if it would be possible to maintain them without all the documentation that the manufacturer or the ADF have to do the maintenance on them.
I figure I could buy some and hire them out to tourists to come along on a self drive tag along. Just trying to work out if I would be able to keep them roadworthy, insured and not have to run around to specialist unique part dealers or have to manufacture my own parts every time a vehicle broke down.

According to the good book, the Brake Booster is an Australian item made by PBR, part number VH516. ;)
There is plenty of info on these vehicles around if you know where to look and who to ask. And will be even more once they are taken out of service.
Re Drivers, I don't believe that it’s the drivers so much, rather what the vehicles are asked to do. I know in my 20 years in the 'system' that we asked much much more of the 110's and 6x6's than you would a civy vehicle. I learn't 'stuff' on my drivers course that there is no way I would do in my Defender; in a 2a at that!
I won't hijack the thread and reminisce, but suffice to say when going out bush these things work hard, day in, day out. And go places most other vehicles are not taken. I will be looking for at least one 110 at auction when they go. Give it and major overhaul on pickup and it should see me out, or until we run out of fuel; whatever comes first.

I really can't think of a worse use, for is sure to be a classic Landy, than letting a bunch of useless tourists drive it around like it was a hire car. You ought to be ashamed for suggesting it. They would absolutely wreck it, winge about it to their Pootrol/Clooser mates, and laugh at it, being total unable to drive it in the correct manner. What a waste. I don't know how anyone could even consider such a proposition if they were lucky enough to get their hands on a Perentie.
which wont happen for the 4bd1.it is perfectly happy on good biodiesel and on paper should also run correctly on a 50/50 blend of avtur and filtered fat. it also runs an straight avtur and since that now has an aviatoin tentatively approved 100% bio alternative (its passed all its ground tests and is or should shortly be passing airborne tests) its an engine that wont stop even when the last of the diosours get burnt up.
Our one was a little modified, rear disc brakes were installed, stronger heavier track rods and springs were fitted to compensate for the much heavier Isuzu.
A map light and a front pair of Isringhausen front seats with the folding arm rests on both.. Ahh :D
