Thread: Isuzu County original spring size?

Looks like I might have asked a hard question, but I think I can probably now answer it myself. Incase anyone is interested, I found a listing for the Army Perentie which states: Front coils- 18.5mm wire thickness, 415mm coil length, 8.37 coils. That seems close enough to what I measured, so I'll assume they are standard.

I've been wondering the same thing... I'd be interested what your bump stop clearances are...

Before of after the upgrade? Early perenties had issues with rolling too frequently (read idiot drivers), so they all had the suspension changed to lower, stiiffer(?) springs.

I can't help as I have never owned a 110 with standard springs. They have all been swapped. I can measure the diameter on my standard height king springs if it is of use though.

Flagg, the distance to the bumpstops on the front axle of mine is 65mm measured from the rear (the bumpstops are angled a fair bit so it will be greater if measured from the front). And while I'm at it, the rear axle bumpstop distance is 140mm. Have however put heavier springs in the rear.
Ben, if you get a chance I'd be interested what wire thickness your King springs are, and also the number of coils. Thanks.
Not sure if the Perentie specs are the upgraded ones or not (actually didn't even realise they were changed). I'll check and see if I can see a date on the manual I got it from.

Perentie rear springs may be heavier than county rear springs as no self leveler unit on the Perentie.

My front standard height Kings are 55mm on one (right) side and 75mm on the other (left)

Yep, the listing I found for the rear Perenties was heavier, 19mm as apposed to 16mm wire my county had originally (I have now upgraded to 18mm in the rear and kept the load leveller - bit harsher ride but much better overall)
