    patrol 5 speed onto isuzu

Has anyone looked at fitting a patrol 5 speed to the Isuzu. As I am pretty sure Marks Adaptors make a kit to bolt that box to the LT230. How hard would it be, or just use the box and transfer maybe.

    Hi
I do have a nissan 5sp box behind the isuzu. I think it is from a patrol, but from one from the 80,s MQ or something like that.

A mate did this in the late 80s or early 90s, an ex army Series 3 but he put Stage 1 panels, so it looked quite neat. It was painted bright yellow and said the Big Banana on the vents on the front, I don't know what happened to it as he sold it not long after finishing it.

    Hi Lambrover

It was allready set up like that when i bought it. I will try and take some photos and post them up. I will be passing though Townsville in the June School Holidays on the way to the cape if you want to have a look let me know. As for how it goes it is good, but i can not seem to get passed 110km/h. this is more to do with the engine not reving high

About 5 years back i was sure someone was making a patrol 5 speed kit for petrol rangerovers. You had to shift the transfercase back about 6 inches to make it all fit.
Can't remember who it was though.

Yep Andrew at LRA used to sell kits for GQ into RCC but not any more. I put one into my 1990 RRC last month when I put the 4.6 in and it seems to work well, much lower 1st, particularly noticable in low range than with the R380. Big job to install, GQ box is about 3 times the size of the R380 and wieghs a heap more, moves transfer back 5" so need different tailshafts, crossmember, muffler position, transfer case leaver mounts and some panel beating to transmission cover and a body lift (mine had one already. Lots of little things need modifying/adjusting as with all of these sort of projects.
    Cheers
    Nick
