I think JC has fitted one to his County. Check his thread about the build up.

It's a LT95 in the vehicle. Pretty sure the cable fits straight into the disco handle. I have been comtemplating doing the same thing with mine. Bundaline has one for sale on evilbay atm. That extra bit of leg room is appealing.

quite correct, i miss read his post

is there much of a difrence between lt95 and 230 backing plates, is it worth changing them over since the 230 ajustment is all in the handle?

The backing plates and drum are the same item on lt95's and lt85/lt230's in County form but don't know if R380/lt230 is the same.

The disco cable goes right into the backing plate and connects to the mechanism inside, whereas the pre-94 defenders have a fork and clevis pin arrangement that attaches to a lever that comes out the front of the backing plate (just found a cable listing with good photo on ebay).
You've already seen the piccy/info in my conversion thread, but my cable was originally connected to a LT77/230/200tdi so had the fork arrangement. I've got the smaller rangie/stage1 size drum on my LT95 and it just connected straight up at that end.
I got the whole assy (from lever to drum) from a D1, but only ended up using the lever as the D1 cable didn't match the LT95.
