They lengthened them to fit a full size (aussie) trayback.

They are aussie only, so quite unique. Offender90 and RangierRover on here own one, and Rovercare has one that now has a 127" (aka 130) chassis.

I believe they originally all had "armstrong" power steering, however PAS may have been an option.

Thought I'd add my two cents since I recently installed a turbo on my 4bd1. Having driven the landy NA for years and years I'm totally thrilled with the performance it has nowadays.

If you are willing to spend ~1500 you can sort yourself out with a new turbo, exhaust manifold (if required) and necessary plumbing, provided you're willing to do the work yourself. This is rather insignificant compared to the 5K and upward quoted.

The turbo, though inexpensive, has done the job for ~30K kms thus far.
Having said that, I don't have super high expectations for it (working life). I instead consider it as more of a 'prelim' turbo for fitting purposes and therefore endeavor to replace it with something more 'heavy duty' after it packs up!

For the moment, I'd consider turning back the fuel screw a few turns if you intent on driving the 110 without the turbo operating.

Looks like an awesome project car and will look even better with a lick of degreaser under the hood :p - I'm confident you'll have hours of fun- hah ;)

Which would explain why the turbo (and possibly every other seal) was ****ing oil.:D

Looks like you've got a nice project there. Does anyone make reproduction firewalls for reasonable money? Sea-freight from the UK isn't expensive.
I don't recognise that turbo, it could be ressurected but I wouldn't bother. Fit a T28 or similar newer turbo.

I also have an 87 trayback :)

Mine has the 4 bolt PS box so probably came in about 86/87.

My '85 120 had 3 bolt power steering.

And cloth trim seats.

Have a look on youtube, there is a tdi 90 doing it... Not something I ever want to see my baby doing!!!

That turbo looks like an old garett turbo, I am working on a 89 patrol atm with a turbo that looks identical including the external waste gate.

The turbo oil feed has been disconnected, that turbo is dead mate you will need a new one.

You dont realy need a intercooler on it, I was running a garret t25 at 15psi with out one, on the high way you will sit at about 8-10 psi, no need for a intercooler, if you where doing losts of heavy work then you would be sitting on higher boost and would benifit from intercooling.

later on i intercooled mine and ran 19psi:twisted:
