its a bit more than just a pressure deferential switch it also helps to balance out brake pressure from front to rear.

my 120 has a Pressure Diferental Warning Actuator (part nos.NRC 4282?)
it is leaking brakefluid has anyone had experience with these. It is basically a switch from what I understand that is activated when one of the brakes looses pressure. I went to pick one up from a part place yesterday, I found that they are very expensive, nearly $300 and this chap is great on prices. Trolled through the net last night and they where on late series with dual brake setups and countys for a short time period. They are now a discontinued item and they are not cheap anywhere I could find on the net ($150+). So wondering has anyone had experiance with these leaking as thats what mine is doing and are they repairable as I do not have that sort of money at this point to replace it. Hope some one can help.

they can be rebuilt if you DIY you will be in front but to have it done in a shop you're likely to spend more on the labour and parts to have it fixed than the cost of a new part

From what I understand there is one found on the chassis common on later series and one on the firewall of the County. Is this what you mean by 2 different type or do they vary with the county dependent on when built.
I had read a few threads elsewhere discussing movement of fluids between the front and rear there was some differences of opinions on that point. Personally it may be the case I am not sure. What a I am sure of though is that mine is leaking from the plastic switch area not any of the brake line unions.
ok, one bolt though the fire wall, comes out behind the peddles so two person job. a bit fiddly but not hard.
that photo is the earlier one, i think they changed about 1989. the latter one is quite chunky and they are not interchangeable, well maybe with bending pipes etc. a bit like swapping out a 3 bolt for a 4 bolt steering box, every one will tell you Yes but they don't tell you what actually needs to be done.
i assume you have drum rears, if so just spend the bucks and swap it out. they have a bout 6ml each side to take up the slack in any shoe adjustment.
i have pulled a couple apart and know of another Isuzu pilot who spent a lot of time looking for a replacement switch with no luck. so rebuildble yes easy, can you get the parts doubt it. is it corroded with a rusty broken spring inside and a pitted bore, probably
I've had 3 of these things all second hand,all leaked,so I left it out,I got a couple of joiners from a brake place and joined the LH top pipe to the LH bottom pipe and RH top pipe to the RH bottom pipe,
Its only a switch so a light comes on in the dash if one end of the brake system failes, fitted to comply with an ADR.
Defenders have them in the master cylinder.
The one you have is not a perportioning valve.
