 1. LT85 can be used with the Isuzu, but is liable to problems unless some care is used in driving. LT95 much better.
2. LT85 is a completely different box with a separate transfer case and an extra gear - the LT95 has an integrated transfer case.
3. Isuzu box is certainly the pick as far as strength goes, but a lot bigger job.
4. The Rover/Isuzu special bell housing and flywheel housing are slightly more common than hen's teeth, but not much. May become more available as the army replaces its Landrovers with MB over the next few years and both vehicles and spares are sold off.
