    Prior to my HX30W I was running a T25G - basically a T25 with a larger compressor. No intercooler.
Wastegate wired shut, decent low-mid performance but definitely choking under high load or RPM. EASILY saw 750decC pre-turbo.
With the HX30W and same fuelling I haven't noticed any increase in lag, and max EGT has never gone above 650degC pre-turbo no matter how much I push it.

Anyone with a laggy HX30W running a tacho? Roughly what RPM are you seeing significant boost and when do you hit 20psi?

Steve, I'm probably the main offender here, it could be that there's something else going on with my motor...
Don't get me wrong the HX30 goes great on these engines, I am seeing 30psi or more in top revs, but I get a lot of black smoke and <10psi under about 1500 at a rough guess...
I do not have a tach, and that, along with an A/R gauge is on my todo list...

one time I ran a pod filter for a couple of days and it did spool noticeably earlier....

    Reviving an old thread.

Just interested in knowing the thoughts of the knowledgeable Isuzu guru's on the turbo kit supplied by KLR for the 4BD1 and in particular the kit being fitted to many of the the ADF Perentie's.

I do own a Perentie and am thinking of installing a turbo.

How do these kits perform as an alternative to other set ups that have been installed by members on this forum?

Looking forward to hearing the pro's and con's.

    Kind Regards,
    Warrick.

I have a turbo kit which I obtained from KLR. Currently running in my 130 with a 4bd1 running an r380 Kit also supplied by KLR. I have adjusted fuel as per supplied guidelines when fitting the kit. Mine happily tows a fully laden camp trailer and anything else i throw at it. I can sit quite happily at 90-95 kph towing. I have used it off road nothing mad as I have to pay for repairs. The vehicle has performed faultlessly since before and after the fitment. I cant complain. I drive like I own the Landy, 100kph suits me fine. My boost tops out at about 15psi. i don't need more so i leave well enough alone after all it is a landy and not a sports car. Baz

    Thanks Baz.

Appreciate your feedback. Sounds like the sort of driving I do too.

    Kind regards,
    Warrick.
