I guess the bellhousing mating face to whatever point on the front of the motor would foul the cross member 1st? Not very clear, I know.

How about front face of clutch bellhousing to front of harmonic balancer, I won't be able to do it until probably Friday as I am working tomorrow and it's dark when I get home.

THe JD power site lists the 4bd1t at 810x660x813 the 6bd1t at 1209x662x884
my 4he1t at 1181x700x833 measurements are overall in mm.Just measured my engine at 865mm x700x770 these are all Lxwxh so apart from actual measurements of engines or factory drawings I would treat with suspicion

Resurrecting an old thread here. Has anyone done a 6BD1T swap into a Perentie 6X6? I reckon it would be an excellent mod and there appears to be enough room to do it. Even the 6X6 gearbox mounts are on a rail that has holes about the correct position for moving the box back far enough. Ideally if I was to do it I would consider using the current LT95A and bellhousing/flywheel housing forn the 4B motor. From what I can see it should bolt straight onto the rear of the 6B motor and the torque impulses shouldn't be as hard on the box as the 4B motor. With careful driving I think the LT95A would stand up to the 6BD1's power - any thoughts?

I say do it brian, it would really make a 6x6! How do you think the clutch would fare it though?

If need be, you can always look at different gearbox options down the track. Mxa 5 or 6 speed mated to the lt95 can be done as well.

Sheldon tells me he has a 6x6 to do for a customer soon, swap engine for a 4he1 from memory and install a 6 speed auto, which i thing he is using a vw toureag box.
Always plenty of options, but tue big 6 would be great!

Seriously thinking about it Damo. I reckon the 6BD1T would be a good power to weight ratio choice. Hopefully the HD clutch I already have in there would be sufficient.

Yeah, imagine the torque and smoothness of the engine.
    I would if i had a 6x6.

May be send sheldon a message on his facebook page, he does tell me he has a 6bd1 sitting there he keeps eyeing off for a conversion.
