    Smile Replacement air filter

My 83 RRC was converted from v8 to Isuzu army turbo spec in the JRA factory Moorebank in 1988 (owned by an employee). It was fitted with a large Donaldson filter unit consisting of an FHG Cyclo unit with a safety element and a P90-0611 primary element. I have had a frustrating 6 months trying to source the primary as Donalson discontinued them quite a few years ago.
Anyway armed with the vital measurements I convinced our local truck parts supplier to allow me to sift through the new filter stocks measuring as I went. After an hour I hit the jackpot. An element exactly the same size but with the plastic flutey thing on the exit end. I grabbed it , returned home with a big big smile and proceeded to remove the flute and simply slide it on the other end. The part No-Fleetguard AF4059K. I hope this is of assistance to others.

83 RRC Suzi turbo, rear ashcroft air locker, 24spline HTE axles.,LT95.

    Hi Masmia,
If it was a turbo motor fitted on the assembly line at Moorebank, there is a fair chance that it will be a 6X6 or turbo spec aircleaner. Have a look and see if the sticker with the FHG number is still readable on the housing. The element you listed ( P90-0611) is a 6X6 turbo spec aircleaner primary and will not fit original 4X4 ones so that number you have for the Fleetguard will only be applicable for 6X6 aircleaners. That,s a pretty rare vehicle you have there.
    Cheers......Brian

Bearman, thanks for your comments, in the hope of not confusing others , the original cleaner housing is a FHG08-0462.

Thanks, Yup that's a proper turbo aircleaner you have there. There should be a lot of aircleaner elements come through the auctions WHEN the ADF gets around to selling all their store spares. Anyone's guess when that will be though.

Thats the same primary element as the one in the Fleetguard housing that I'm running (housing p/n AH19066).

Link to the Fleetguard manual here which has all dimensions etc if anyone is interested:

    Thanks Masmia.

I'm sure many would like a bit more of a write up on your RRC - with pics!

the air cleaner was the same except the plastic fins are on the other end.

a NA the air intake is on the driver side.turbo is on the N/S.
the air intake into both filters is under the filter on the driver side.

the turbo air filter had service indicators-but i cant remember if the NA do.
i didnt think that army had safety filter.

if it is deleted part number will only be for cyclone fins.

On NA housing the inlet and outlet are at same end.

I modified mine so inlet is on top at DS end and outlet is at other end. I removed the plastic shield on element and relocated it to other/inlet end.
