Injection pump modification question

A stock pump can be adjusted to deliver approx 140cc/1000 shots of diesel.
The 250hp that John (Bush65) is expecting from 180cc is a conservative figure which I suspect is due to John (rightfully) picking a level of tune with very safe EGT levels for reliabilty in remote locations.
If you so wished his engine/turbo/pump combination may be able to put out closer to 300hp.

The 140cc will deliver in excess of 200hp and 700Nm. You need to provide around 25psi of efficient boost and good intercooling to use this 140cc maximum fuel.
250hp may be acheivable if everything is done perfectly.

Thanks for all the good info guys its been very helpful .since I really only want to run around 15psi boost am i best to get the pump rebuilt to standard spec have I got that right from want you guys have said

It's a vicious cycle!!! I'd say standard pump will be fine

if you have the turbo and a non compensated pump have the pump shop check the torque plate number (as per previous post) and if it doesnt have the non compensated torque plate in it have them fit that.

not really a requirement but some people prefer that ones throttle response with the turbo.

Do you have a part no. For the 4bd1torque plate. Or is A75 it .Another option is to get an exchage pump or get a exchange 4bd1t pump for my na 4bd1 pump maybe. any suggestions on good exchange pump shops for that option as the shops here are talking1- 2 weeks down time. slow I think

the main isuzu truck dealers parts/service department up here in brisbane is brilliant for getting suzi stuff.

While we are on injector pumps if any of you learned gentlemen can tell me what those bloody lectric bits:mad: do I would be most gratefull:)

the first one (near the timing gear) looks like it might be the hall effect sensor for a tacho the second one might be a fuel control device or rack limit solenoid.

But thats not the stock 4bd1 pump as per in the county/perentie,

if its off of an industrial engine that may explain why you're not satisifed with its characteristics.

what are the numbers on the pump?

Been so long since I've looked at my pumps but something about it looks industrial I know one of mine has timing device other does not..

The pump is off a 4he1t On ebay $350 couldn`t resist it .as you say Dave the 3 wire unit most likely taco related .The single a solenoid that pulls a lever inside The big question is it going to run whithout it. As I pick up my engine this week I supose I am about to find out
