I knew what you meant, but thought you would know what I meant in my reply. :D

Thought you may have ment frequently :p
Just to put the 30psi into perspective.
30psi boost at 18:1 A/F ratio (i.e. burning clean and safe EGT) at 3,600rpm can deliver ~200kw on a 4BD1T. 140cc/1000 shots fuel (stock pump maxed out, maybe governor mods to keep fuelling that high in the rpm range).
In a landrover, I'd put money on the driver crapping their pants before the 4BD1T.:D
Everyone loves a smart ass, well 2 in fact :D
So why do we have holes in pistons ie Justins customer
Have posted these pics before but might be relevent here 83000 k out of my Isuzu truck one of the oil holes to close to the combustion chamber:mad:
Sorry, I'm here :-D Am parked outside of town so it's a 4km walk to the internet to post. Got the phone working online again just now so can post more frequently again.
Only got the head off today due to Anzac day and finding a place that the local authorities wouldn't bother me. To be honest I'm a bit baffled - with you the knocking I was getting from the engine, I was expecting to see signs of catastrophic failure, but cylinder walls are smooth, piston heads are good, and can't see anything at the big end either?
I was getting obvious blowby, so there's a ring failure somewhere, so I'll be dropping out the pistons tomorrow as soon as I pick up a ring compressor so I can put them back in again. But other than that I can't see any points of failure. Would I get that much vibration with just a ring failure, without the engine getting torn up in the process?
