I also am remote mounting my filters as I started machining a solid chunk of alloy to make the 60mm spacer however I set it up on the mill and realised I would need a long slot drill to get the depth so I am now almost finished remote mounting them and is proving much simpler

One to bolt onto the engine block where the filter housing normally is, the other to bolt onto the removed filter housing where the engine block normally is. Drill and tap two holes in each plate for hose fittings.
Once the filter is mounted, run appropriate pressure and drain lines between the pair of adapter plates. Make the drain as large as practical.

Further to my last post, the other thing that needs to be addressed when making the adapter plate for the engine block, is the take-off for the lube line to the fuel injection pump.

Sounds fine. If you were using 5W-something I was going to recommend going a 15W-something, but I can't see a problem with either of those.
