    110 CSW Evap

Found the AC Evap part number - it is MUC1663. Just did a new search to try to find one somewhere at a reasonable price, the best price I could find is John Craddock at just under 2.3K GBP! At least that gives you enough left over from your $4K by the time you land it here to buy two cups of coffee (and maybe the stiff drink you will need to calm your nerves before pushing the 'Add to Cart' button).

    MUC1663 - EVAPORATOR ASSEMBLY AIR CONDITIONING 90/110 - Defender 90/110 Parts

The Corolla Evap unit I mentioned can be had for around $250 here, about half that if you are willing to order from OS - expansion valve will cost you about another $50. When I start playing around with one I will post some photos.

Welcome to the forum LR Girl.

Yes MUC1663 is the evap/heat/blower unit. I'm trying to locate a part number for the evaporator matrix inside the MUC1663.

I'm currently trying to install a MUC1663 box into my d90 (ongoing)

The corolla unit sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

    AC Evap unit

Sadly it looks as though the Evap core is NLA and the only stock remaining is the complete unit (which is okay if you don't mind a bunch of spares I suppose). LHD Evap cores are still available, but at $600 AUD it is a bit of a risk to get one just to try it and see if it happens to fit the RHD housing. The Corolla core will physically fit inside the RHD housing so my main concern at this stage is that it not interfere with the operation of any of the other components and, being a more modern matrix core, airflow is enough to keep the core clean from the dust and crap that regularly finds its way into these units!

I have the same problem with my '93 RRC, it seems like you can get everything new except the Evap core so that is next on the list to try to find something that fits.

Thanks for the welcome. I will try my best to get an intro post on soon.

I had one replaced whilst on long service leave in '07 - it was hot in Qld !!. I know it wasn't a LR part as I was in Gympie and the family was close to mutiny, so something had to be done. The garage sourced a unit - generic I think and fabricated up some different brackets. I think its still in the garage here as I stripped down the Landie a couple of years later.,. You are welcome to measure it up..

Thanks Dee Jay. Not at the point I am ready to start playing with the AC just yet as I have other things to do, but I will bear your offer in mind when the time comes.
