Don't have the part number but I know it is off an F250 around late 88-90 vintage. Someone on board here may have an RPS that will have a part number.

Rover no. is AYG439, but it does have a PBR/Ford look to it.

Don't know the PBR master cylinder number, only the Land Rover number listed by 303 Gunner.

However the PBR hydraulic parts kit for it is K7987 and the booster PBR VH516

You may be able to work backwards from there.

Also the M.C body is PBR 30013
the piston primary assembly is PBR 23168
the piston secondary assembly is PBR 23167

If you find out the MC number can you post it back?

    Hi Guys,
    Just an update.........

AYG439 has been superseded to CYG 5048 list price $580.40 +gst, but are no longer available unless ordered in batch lots of 300 (so I'm told by ULR)

PBR Aust have advised they have no records relating to AYG439 or CYG 5048,
    they also advise rebuild kit K7987 fits a (Ford) F250A #19740-81 with a bore size 31.75mm (1-1/4")

    Will keep searching........

    Hi Westy

Did PBR suggest #19740-81 was still available?

The kit part number comes direct from the Army Repair Parts Scale for the 6x6 Land Rover. So it is likely the F250 part number IS the master cylinder for the Land Rover 6x6. Given that it mounts on a PBR booster the only likely differences will be that the LR number uses metric tube nuts on the brake lines while the Ford one uses UNF.

    sorry Diana,
didn't get to ask as the sales person hung up as soon as I said "thanks", she didn't give me any time to ask any more questions, maybe it was too hard for her................
I have spoken to a couple of mates in the brake/clutch industry and they are also doing checking for me (people with-in the industry might get better responses from manufacturers)

Australian assembled F truck with a hole drilled between chambers.
that would make it a non stock part number.

    pipes made to suit.

I made a few up for the narrow cab that used the English county dual circuit valve.

    Alittle confused.

Is the LR part drilled or the F truck one drilled?

What m/c part did you use for the narrow cabs? I have an English 6x6 with the standard defender booster and m/c that I want to upgrade.

the narrow cab 6X6 booster and master cyl came from local supplier.and was the same on the early 6X6 when I was working for LR.

the booster had the normal ford 3 bolt mounting the same as the army 4X4 but was bigger dia and not a thick as the 4X4 falcon unit.the cast master cyl looks like the units you get on air over hydrolics like internationals. wasnt able to find a picture online but plenty of brake upgrade shops selling chrome units.

a brace from the master cyl to the inner wing [I think] that was a pain to fit.

they had a drill jig to dril a hole above the half way point-from the big chamber to the smaller chamber. that allows a common chamber without running completely out of oil.

the large chamber was for the front system and the rear system needed more oil capacity to supply oil for the 4 wheel drums wheel cyl or 4 wheel disc, why they couldn't swap the hoses as the proportion dual safety switch valve was external ??.might be it still didn't have enough oil.

the 4X4 used the local pbr master cyl available in a few sizes.

smaller dia gives stronger pedal. but you have to push more distance to pump up the pedal. however you can move the mounting pin point lower to regain a little travel if you got enough stroke.
