To much oil pressure for tubro?

What size is the drain on the turbo and how much do you restrict it?

While I agree the drain should be vertical if possible.....I put my drain into the side cover as well - horizontal. Haven't done more than some test kms yet, but no smoke from oil. Did some test kms without an exhaust as well and no sign of oil on the turbine outlet. My drain is much bigger than everyone else's though. 5/8" barb on turbo, 5/8" hose on a nice round bend to the horizontal and the barb I brazed to the side cover is a 5/8" barb with a minimum 1/2" internal. Some people are running 1/4" drains, so mine is 2 times bigger in diameter. More in cross-section/area.

Sounds like a similar setup to mine. I replaced the breather side cover with a standard one (running turbo rocker cover with the larger breather). It is just a rubber oil hose which I find kinks quite easily when bent. Might need to find something a bit better to use

Judo, the restrictor goes on the feed side, not the drain.
As long as the drain doesn't build pressure (is free flowing) then it's good.

Sounds like you're going to the rear of the 2 side covers. I'm using the front one BTW. Maybe I got lucky with hose length and location for a nice sweeping bend.

I used some hi-temp oil hose from Enzed. Its got a blue outer cover - quite stiff and doesn't kink easily. I recall being told by one of the hose places not to use silicon hose for tight bends as its soft and kinks easily.
If you've having trouble with kinking it might be better to get a metal elbow added to the drain fitting on the turbo itself rather than trying to accommodate the bend in the hose.

It's the layers of reinforcement that make silicone hose usable or not. But for straight sections it's just pointless bling.
I use fuel hose. It has temperature ratings on it (can't recall right now) and has no problem with oil.
