Get the industrial t2 manifold, cut and flip the neck so the turbo is a low mount.

Forgive my ignorance but what model would they have come with? Can they be easily purchased on their own to go onto a different motor?
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

They are industrial high mount manifolds used on 4bd1t and 4bg1t stationary engines. One of the guys on here had some to dispose of recently.

I'm thinking of getting a couple of wrecked Perenties. We'll chat later Gav.

With all the talk of changing manifolds, would a non turbo'd 4BD1 take a turbo? Are they the same as a 4BD1T but without the turbo?

I believe there are differences in the two, but a non turboed version will accept turbo charging. Just not sure of what boost, etc they will handle or if it is easier to stuff a new set of pistons in it to suit.

They dont care, 30psi with variable vane and maxed fuel pump on my last one, that had travelled 300,000kms

Awesome - that's the sort of thing I'm looking for - something that isn't fragile and doesn't get upset about such things.

So what sort of power and torque figures are reliably achievable and although it further down my list of caring, what sort of fuel usage will I see pushing a brick along at 90 to 100KPH?

The 4bd1 with an aftermarket turbo will do more than you ever want the gearbox to handle.

When I put an army rebuilt 4BD1 in my rangie with garret turbo and 17psi I went sydney and towed home a rangie with 400chev PTO winch and bars etc home, it got 19L/100 on the first 400kms, 16L/100 on the next 600kms, generally sitting on 110-120. 3.5 diffs and 35's. I could flog it on the governor everywhere full pace in the bush and get mid 14's, this is with accurate kilometre and litre input's all errors accounted for, generally I averaged 13-14 in them, but I drove them pretty with no regard for economy

LT95 will handle masses of power, would not worry about it, its the other boxes that don't last. only thing is transfer case will cop it on the intermediate thrust washers, tapered roller kit fixs that, Gav will need to change diff's to 3.5 and fit .0996 high range gears to make it drive well with Isuzu
