Oh, and what sort of revs should I be looking for at 100KPH with this engine - and what are its maximum revs? Just want to work out the gearing as described to make sure it all makes sense in my head.![]()
Yep, got a spare LT95 that will be fully rebuilt and have a roller taper intermediate shaft conversion, through front and rear salisburys - should be a pretty tough combination I think.
Gearing will be changed to suit the Izusu - looks like I know what I need in that department now too.. Although I want to still keep the gearing low enough to do some mild and medium off road work, the vast majority of its work will be on the blacktop and on dirt roads and easy tracks. Really don't want to risk wrecking it off road on really hard stuff - that's what the RRC will be for...
Don't expect to see this conversion happen for a while - I've got an RRC to put an interior in and put on club plates, then a series III to rebuild and register first...
At my current rate, I would say I'd be looking at 18 months plus before I wheel the 101 into the garage to do this, but when I do, I want everything sitting there ready to go so it's off the road for as shorter time as possible.

Max 3200-3600, around 2000 or a tad lower at 100 is good
Beat me to it![]()
Ok, tell me if I've got this right...
At 2000 rpm on the engine, through the LT95 in top with .996 final drive = 1,992 RPM to the driveshafts. Running 3.54 diffs would give 562.7 RPM at the wheels. With 36" tyres (255/100/16) that would give me 287cm per revolution of the tyre, so around the 97KPH give or take...? That sounds about spot on if I've done my maths right?

Ashcroft calculator say 2047 RPM at 100kph. Would be worth checking out Ashcroft Transmissions - Ratio Calculator
