    Isuzu / NV4500 / NP 205

Another option to make it all stay together.

Isuzu Diesel GM NV3500 NV4500 Adapter | eBay

The NV (New Venture) 4500 is a pretty stout 5 speed gearbox, and very popular behind diesels in the US. The NP (New Process) 205 transfer is in the same league, but usually the rear output is on centreline, rather than the 'right drop' as on the LT-230. Also, from what I can see, it doesn't have a centre-diff so that's free wheeling hub time...

Anyway, for about 2k landed, I doubt it could be made here with a flywheel for less. Add a NV-4500 and NP-205 and you'd be looking at 6k all up?? (plus rear axle mods)

Looking at that adpater, it converts the isuzu to GM pattern so then any GM trans will bolt up like one of the GM auto trans.

Yes I think so. Some forums such as www.4BTswaps.com detail various autos behind various diesels.

The pulsing of the 4BD1(t) has been discussed regarding the longevity of manual and auto transmissions, but Isuzu do offer an auto for the 4BD1/2 and 4HF1.

Isn't the nv4500 the one with nuts that keep rattling loose internally?

There is a d2 in the US with the 4BD1T, nv4500 and lt230.

Gotta be better than over priced or non existent MSA adapters or worse, LR 5spd gearbox.

Don't forget taxes and import duties. Try to everything come in (or invoiced) separately under the $1k mark. Nasty things happen above this and often hard to pre-figure.

Not sure if this might fit, considering the starter motor position etc', but sure is a lot cheaper. Looks to use the GM flywheel or flex plate.
