    Ppwer steering woes.

    I finialy bit the bullet and swapped my metal resovior on my 1984 county to the later D1 plastic type as I was feed up with the oil leaking from the top.
    Was easy to convert over but now after a week the steering is now heavy and feels like the power steering isn't working any one know why?
    I checked and I have the hoses connected up correctly.

    Just seams very odd 0_o Any advice would be much welcomed

    power steering

    It sounds like you may have an air lock in the steering box there is a bleed off point on the top of the steering box you need to start the motor, top up the reservoir then open the bleed off point to let trapped air out hopefully this should help fix the problem .(worth a try)

    Just to confirm, you followed the arrows on the plastic reservoir?

    Thanks mate I was looking for a diagram like this. I have a front outlet (H/Pressure ) on my pump so may need to organise a T piece. Not sure where to get the hoses & connector converters (if needed) from though...

    Take the original pipes to a hose shop and they will chop the flares off and braze on another connector to crimp the hose too.

    I took that diagram and a fish bin with all the bits (I had two sets of everything) and said to the guy, make it work! Haha

    And yeah you'll probably need an elbow.
