I still need to add a vacuum tank in and I am hoping this is the issue if its not that im guessing the valve I chose is too small and restricting the vacuum.
To do it properly I was going to hook up a boost gauge to the exhaust manifold, because I think 40 PSI is the max back pressure they can handle.

Iveco said it could not be done, But I installed a Gearing Dynamics 3" Exhaust brake on my Iveco 4x4

    Iveco 4x4 Brake Problems

It can't work if you have an EGR so I blocked mine (probably why Iveco said it could not be done) Now I have engine braking instead of a runaway train.

no reason at all why you could not put it on any diesel Landy so long as the EGR is blocked.

After further inspection this morning the exhaust brake is being actuated fully (atleast at idle it is), however some of the back pressure is leaking from the piston ring like seals that are between the turbo and the exhaust (Number 8 in picture).

I have tested it on a few steeper hills and it definitely slow you down alot, but im hoping for even more once I replace the seals.

Ive been using the exhaust brake for a while now and its great. Im still learning to use properly and when its most effective or when to drop down gears but overall its awesome. Around where i live there is a lot of hilly and windy roads, I normally sit on 80km/h in 3rd (Lt95) and the exhaust brake holds my speed and slows me down. 4th helps a bit but the 4bd1t engine slows you down enough on the highway anyway. 2nd the exhaust brake works really well on any hill.

The cost of the valve was around about $120 and is a simple 3 way non detenting valve with a silencer for a filter on the exhaust.

A couple of pictures of the valve and its location..

I will record a video soon and upload.
